Minton Williams, Jr. was born in Macon, Georgia, to Minton and Sue Williams, who were well known in the region as spiritual leaders. His father was a renowned high school coach. His football, basketball and golf teams won and contended for many state titles. Athletics were important to Minton, as well. His basketball team won the State Championship his Junior year in high school with his dad being one of the coaches.
Minton received the Lord as an 8-year-old. While he was in high school, his parents received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. This changed their lives forever. They longed for a deeper walk with God and instilled this desire in their children. They were instrumental in praying for scores of people in the region to receive this power from God. During his freshman year at Georgia Tech, Minton also received this baptism and committed himself to God’s plans.
He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1974 with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering. After college, he accepted a position with Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee, a $7 billion global manufacturing company. For the next 33 years, Minton worked in various individual contributor and management positions in Information Technology. He was working as a member of the IT senior management team when he was named as a Director. In addition, he provided community service and leadership to the United Way and Ronald McDonald House. He also served as a Technical Advisor to the Tennessee State Board of Education for computing and telecommunications.
His business and engineering backgrounds are evident in his teaching as he builds line upon line, precept upon precept, in a logical and organized manner. The ministry reflects one who has spent years putting the principles he teaches to work in the practical marketplace of life. Having spent his life in business rather than traditional ministry has given him a unique perspective. He has lived what he now teaches.
While living in East Tennessee, Minton and his family attended Cornerstone Church in Johnson City for almost 38 years. Pastors Barry and Ann Burns boldly taught the Word of God that grounded his family firmly in the faith.
In 2007 Minton took early retirement from Eastman with plans to move into consulting in the IT arena. He received a word from the Lord that year which totally changed those plans. In 2008 he began teaching small groups and different Bible studies at Cornerstone Church. He proved himself through the years by continuing to teach and minister in Bible studies, classes and regular services at the request of the Pastors. In 2011, he was ordained by Cornerstone Church.
Being led to return to Macon in 2013, Minton had opportunities to teach and minister in local churches and ministries. He taught a regular Bible study at the Macon House of Prayer for four years. In 2014, Minton was invited to teach a Sunday service at All Things Are Possible Ministries pastored by William Fambro. He taught there regularly as they attended ATAP for the next two years.
When ATAP relocated out of Macon, Minton was led to join High Point Church where he currently serves as Elder under Pastor Trey Dickerson. At High Point, Minton has taught in HPC’s Healing School since its inception in 2015 and teaches regularly in mid-week and Sunday night services.
Minton continues to teach Bible studies, and services at other churches and groups. The ministry continues to see people receive freedom from bondages and miraculous healings by the Gifts and the Anointing of the Holy Spirit.
He is married to his high school sweetheart, BJ Francis. Also a native of Macon, BJ is a powerful woman of God who has lived her life trusting God and believing His Word. Minton and BJ have three adult sons, Clint, Ben and Brad, and seven grandchildren. Their continuing desire is to see people grow strong and obtain victory in life through the knowledge and power of the Word of God.
