Life in the Family Name
God created man and crowned him with glory. Even the angels wondered, “What is man that you are mindful of Him?”
They saw man was created in the very image and likeness of God! They saw His desire was for man to know and fellowship with His God, in a manner which we would call being part of a family, His family.
When man rebelled against God and sinned, the Father had a plan to restore man so that once again we could know and fellowship with our God.
That is who we are as believers in Christ Jesus!
God revealed Himself to man in many ways, even through His Names. With each Name, He reveals His nature and character to us. He also tells us in His Word that we have His family name, and with it comes His nature and character. It is time for us to take that position and reveal to the world the Father’s lovingkindness and goodness.
The Father created you and me so that we could get to know Him in a very personal way. He wants us to not only know Him as Father but also to know and experience His character and nature through which He demonstrates His lovingkindness toward us. He has also covenanted Himself to that end!
We have been made a people of His own possession, called by His Name, for His praise and glory. Learn in this session who we are and what we have been given in the family name.
God’s Name is referred to in scripture as holy, worthy of praise, a strong tower just to name a few. His Name tells us that He is everything that man could ever need. So, what is in His Name? All that you could ever need.
Remember, He has given you His family Name and with it comes His very being. In this session, we will learn what He says about His Name and begin to see Him reveal Himself through His Name.
We have been given His family Name and with it comes His very being.
In this session, we will learn about four more of His Names or References as He is revealed in the names of Elohym, El Elyon, Adonai and El Shaddai.
We will conclude as we SEE HIS BANNER in His Name Jehovah-Nissi.
He is our Victory!
The LORD plainly declares the He is THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS as He speaks His Name as Jehovah-Tsidkenu! What is He revealing here concerning Himself? What is the implication of this for us as New Covenant believers? How does His righteousness impact us and what does it mean that we are also righteous?
He also declares that we have been sanctified by the LORD OUR SANCTIFIER. What is He revealing in this, another of His compound Names?
The answers to these questions are essential for believers to know, to believe and to act on! This session will answer these questions and much more as He prepares a BRIDE, the church, for the coming glorious day!
Jesus told His disciples that they never had to be troubled or worried! Do we believe this is true for us as well? He then stated the reason for this, that He would give them His PEACE!
In the book of Judges, the Lord God spoke to Gideon in a similar manner. As a result, the Holy Spirit recorded Gideon’s building an altar to God declaring THE LORD IS PEACE!!
The Lord has revealed His Name is Jehovah-Shalom!
Study God’s Word today and see what we have in this Name of the Lord, part of our family name!
Early in His deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt, the Lord revealed Himself as their healer, their physician! But even before He revealed this in pronouncing His redemptive Name of Jehovah-Rapha, He demonstrated His will concerning healing as Abraham prayed for Abimelech’s wife and her maidens.
When Jesus came, He too demonstrated that His Father, our Father, is indeed Jehovah-Rapha as He healed person after person! And the good news of the Gospel is that healing is included for us just as forgiveness of sin is!
What GOOD NEWS!!
The 22nd chapter of Genesis describes a covenant event that enabled our Father God to send His son, His only son Who was greatly beloved into the earth as THE LAMB OF GOD! It was during this time that the Lord disclosed to Abraham that He is Jehovah-Jireh, the LORD Who Provides!
Do not equate this with any kind of get-rich-quick scheme. He simply was us to be a BLESSED PEOPLE!
In this study, we will see that it is the Lord’s desire that His people lack nothing, that they may be seen as prosperous so that “ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH MAY FEAR HIM.” (Psalm 67:7)
Study with us as we learn that His desire in us prospering is that we have all we need with enough left over to be a major blessing and to sow into His works as He instructs us!
In Ezekiel 48: 35, the prophet decrees that “the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE.” “From that day” indicates that this will be a forever name AND that the LORD will be EVER PRESENT in His temple. This is a decree of what shall be physically, but it also denotes that the LORD will FOREVER be in His temple which He has created inside those who receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Thus, we can say “The Lord is ever present in me!” GLORY TO GOD!!
Though it may look as if we have no one with us, in truth, we ARE NOT ALONE; just as Jesus said in John 17.

The LORD is There!
We have a GOOD shepherd! A shepherd who loves and cares for us, His people, His Sheep.
And not only do we have a good shepherd, we also have a good friend!
There is so much revealed in the Name of the LORD as He instructs us that He is OUR SHEPHERD!
Learn with us today all that we have provided by the Lord; just as a good shepherd provides all that his sheep need!
Jesus told Phillip in the 14th Chapter of John, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father!” In essence, He is saying, “I have revealed the Father’s heart to you; His very character, nature and desire for you!” He could just as easily have said, “I have revealed to you all of His Names that you have seen in the Torah.”
Jesus not only revealed but fulfilled those Names during His days on the earth! But as He prayed to the Father in John 17, He noted “I have made Thy Name known to them and will make it known.”
What is He saying to them AND TO US TODAY?
I believe He is saying that He will work with men to continue to make known the Name of the Lord!! Praise God we get to be used in revealing Jesus and His Father to the World.
