Minton Williams was born in Macon, Georgia, to Minton and Sue Williams, who were well known in the region as spiritual leaders. Minton received the Lord as an 8-year-old child. While he was in high school, his parents received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and this changed their lives forever. During his freshman year at Georga Tech, Minton also received this baptism and committed himself to God’s plans.
He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1974 with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering. After college, he accepted a position with Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee, a global manufacturing company. For the next 33 years, Minton worked in individual contributor and management positions in Information Technology.
In 2007, Minton took early retirement from Eastman. He received a word from the Lord that year which totally changed his retirement plans. In 2008, he began teaching small groups, Bible studies and later regular services at the request of his pastors.
His business and engineering backgrounds are evident in his teaching as he builds line upon line, precept upon precept, in a logical and organized manner. This ministry reflects one who has spent years putting the principles he teaches to work in the practical marketplace of life. Having spent his life in business rather than traditional ministry has given him a unique perspective. He has lived what he now teaches.
