“He is Able to Guard”

He is Able to Guard

2 Timothy 1: 12 concludes with this phrasefor I know whom I have believed and I AM CONVINCED THAT HE IS ABLE TO GUARD THAT WHICH I HAVE ENTRUSTED TO HIM until that day. (NASB)  In pondering this verse today three questions arose.  The first, do I believe that “He is able to guard” and like most believers, the answer would be a resounding YES.  The second is “would He do it for me?  And I would again strongly say YES, as He is not a respecter of persons.

And now to the third question that He raised which is my focus for today.  Note again what follows “He is able to guard.”  It reads, “that which I have ENTRUSTED to Him.”  The King James version reads, “that which I have COMMITTED to Him.”

Thus, I ask this question, JUST WHAT HAVE I ENTRUSTED AND COMMITTED TO HIM?

Just a portion of my life or my whole being?   Just going to heaven to live with Him, or my life today while on this earth?  He paid for it all, have I committed my all to Him?

SELAH, pause today and think about this…
